| The Swirly Girl is southern California artist Christine Miller. Born in Norman, OK, she spent most of her childhood on the beaches of North Carolina and then moved to Alexandria, VA, where she remained until heading to Virginia Tech to earn a Bachelor's Degree in Art. She received a Master's Degree in Adult Education from the University of Georgia a few years later, and made her way to California in June of 1995. Four months after settling in Santa Barbara, she started Swirly.
Christine's vision for Swirly was to inspire as many people as possible to make their dreams real. Through hard work, persistence and dedication, she achieved her goal and continues to be an inspiring force through her work as an artist, writer, traveler and dreamer. In addition to her art, one of Christine's greatest passions is for travel, and she has been extremely fortunate to have visited places near and far. Destinations include most of the United States, Mexico, Canada, Bermuda, England, Spain, France, Switzerland, Austria, Germany, Italy, Greece, Japan, Australia, New Zealand, Bora Bora and Cuba; her next trip will be to Argentina and Brazil this fall. Christine uses these experiences and many others - good and bad - to shape her mission as an artist and feed the creative work she does.
